From A470 (Welshpool to Barmouth Road):

Approaching Dolgellau on the A470 heading west, there is a steep downhill stretch where you will pass an Esso petrol station and a Little Chef on the right.  

Travel a further quarter of a mile then turn left (signposted Dolgellau).  Follow this road into the centre of Dolgellau.  

Travel across the top of Eldon Square (town square).  Continue west for approximately half a mile (road signposted Tywyn) then take the left turn onto Cader Road (signposted Cader Idris). Travel uphill for approximately half a mile, then take the right fork (signs: Tal y Waen Cottages, Graig and Tyn Llwyn).  

Keep on this road for approximately 1 mile. Cross the cattle grid and continue for a further quarter of a mile before reaching Tal y Waen - our house is high above the road on the left and the cottages are on the right.
